The Path

They say the quickest way to get from point A to B is on a straight line… Point A being me and B being God’s call for me, my line however, was most certainly NOT a straight one... It was filled with curves, loops, angles and I even went backwards a few times... Once and awhile in sweet moments of my life, my line touched “The Path”.

The sweet moments in my life were when I could say that I was exactly where God wanted me to be, but as a young man I would choose distractions and avoid The Path. Now in my early 40's and with years of sincere discernment, silent retreats, spiritual direction and A LOT of prayer, The Path is now lit up and wide enough that I have clarity and room to enjoy this journey. Now, I'm answering God’s call and holding the hand of our Blessed Mother Mary along the way.

I must admit, as The Path was coming in to focus, there were more questions than answers… I needed to know WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, WHY and HOW before I could commit to Gods will, as if I deserved explanations and reasons. The truth (for me) was not found so much in asking questions but in humbling myself to simply listen.

Humility is not overrated! I would pray in silence, then listen...
Repeated in my thoughts and prayers were three words…
VISION, STRENGTH and COURAGE.
This narrowed it down to just one question and one request...

“What is Your will for me God? Command me to do it!"
